NEWCOMERS & VISITORS
SCA newcomers are very welcome at the Festival of St John - the moderate numbers and compact site make it an ideal event with which to familiarise oneself with the group. Our Hospitality Officers, led by Lord Svartr Ormsson, are available to offer help and advice to any who need it.
Visitors from other SCA or historic recreation groups are always welcome! If you're travelling light, contact us to check whether loaner gear - garb, armour, bedding, etc. - might be available. If you need billeting or transport before or after the event, don't hesitate to ask via the form below.
Combatants from non-SCA groups will need SCA authorisations to participate in combat activities - this may be easily arranged via our marshallate - enquire below.
You might like to look at the SCA Conventions section of the Canterbury Faire website for information on what to expect when you get here. (Some information may be specific to Canterbury Faire and the Barony of Southron Gaard, and may not apply to St John's.)
